# Open Source & Transparency

**Echo is built in the open.** We welcome contributions from the community.

* Want to modify a rule template? Add a new integration? Build your own features? Fork the repo and make it yours.
* You can inspect exactly how Echo processes your emails. No black boxes, no hidden data collection.
* Security researchers and developers worldwide can audit our code, report vulnerabilities, and suggest improvements.

* Submit pull requests to improve extraction algorithms
* Share custom rule templates with other users
* Contribute plugins for new data sources (Slack, calendar, CRM)
* Localize the interface to your language

**Self-Hosting (coming soon)**
